Exploring Baku with My Colleagues - An Offsite to Remember
17th July To 20th July, 2024 | With Office Associates
🛍️ Nizami Street – The Stylish Pulse of Baku
Our first stop was the iconic Nizami Street, a vibrant pedestrian avenue lined with boutiques, restaurants, and buzzing cafes.
The architecture is a charming blend of classic and modern, and the crowd?
Let me tell you, I felt like I had walked into a live fashion magazine.
The men and women here are stunning — everyone looks like a runway model. And what stood out even more? Their undying passion for business.
From fashion to food, they hustle hard and smile even harder.

🎢 Mount Shahdagh – My Unexpected “Gali Express” Ride
Mount Shahdagh, a beautiful mountain resort perfect for skiing and adventure lovers.
The views were absolutely stunning — snowy mountains, fresh air, and peaceful surroundings.
Then I decided (not sure why) to try their roller coaster ride.
As soon as it started, I panicked.
I ended up shouting every bad word I knew — not my proudest moment!
My colleagues couldn’t stop laughing… at me, of course.
Meanwhile, I was just holding on for dear life.
It was definitely exciting, but also terrifying.
Let’s just say I prefer staying on the ground.
Still, it was an unforgettable experience.
Would I do it again? Maybe… but not without a cup of hot chocolate waiting at the end!
🔥 Yanardagh – The Eternal Flame of Azerbaijan
Yanardagh — the famous "Burning Mountain" just outside Baku, where flames rise right out of the ground and never go out. Sounds dramatic? It actually is! Nature literally showing off.
The sight of fire dancing on the rocks was wild — like something straight out of a movie. We stood there amazed, soaking in the heat (and wondering if we’d accidentally walked into a barbecue).
And of course, what better way to enjoy natural fire… than with ice cream in hand? Yes, we found a little ice cream spot nearby and made it our chill zone.

🔥 Atashgah – Where Fire Meets Faith and History Whispers Through Stone
Atashgah – The Fire Temple — one of the most unique and historic spots near Baku. The moment we stepped in, it felt like time had hit rewind.
Ancient walls, sacred flames, and centuries of stories all in one place.
The eternal fire in the center was fascinating — a symbol of peace and spirituality, but also a great photo op (let’s be honest). Walking through the temple corridors,
you could almost hear whispers of history. Or maybe that was just the wind.
We read about Zoroastrians, Hindu connections, and travelers from centuries ago — basically, a crash course in culture with a side of fire.
Also switched on my blogger mode — shot videos, shared reactions (some dramatic), and had a blast.
Check out the videos at the end of the page — I promise they’re more fire than the fire itself 🔥

🚤 Little Venice – A Calm in the City
Who knew Baku had its own version of Venice? Little Venice, with its gondolas and serene water canals, gave our trip a picturesque pause.
The slow boat ride, calm waters, and European-style bridges made it feel like a postcard brought to life.
And again, picture-perfect people everywhere — like the entire population of Baku is prepping for a photoshoot 24/7.
The reflections on the water were so dreamy, we felt like we were gliding through a movie set.
If there was ever a place made for Instagram reels and slow-mo walks, this was it.
✈️ My “Two-Country” Adventure
Journey Type | Flight Segment | Departure | Arrival |
---|---|---|---|
Going | Mumbai International Airport → Heydar Aliyev International Airport | Mumbai, India | Baku, Azerbaijan |
Return | Heydar Aliyev International Airport → Kuwait International Airport | Baku, Azerbaijan | Kuwait |
Return | Kuwait International Airport → Mumbai International Airport | Kuwait | Mumbai, India |
Yes, I know Kuwait was just a layover... but let me live my best travel influencer life and count it. I visited Kuwait for a solid 2 hours and a coffee! 😎🛫🌍
🥦 And of course… Food Diaries (or the Lack of It)
As always, the only constant in all my international trips: me struggling to find vegetarian food. Being a core vegetarian feels like a superpower… and a curse. While Baku had beautiful views, thrilling rides, and heavenly sweets, veggie options were rare unicorns. But where there’s a will (and enough Baklawa), there’s a way.
🎬 Blogger Mode Activated!
As I mentioned, this wasn’t a professional trip, so I showed off some hidden talent as a blogger! I created fun, spontaneous videos like a full-time vlogger — obviously, it turned out to be very funny! 😄 You must watch and listen to these crazy moments!
